Paula Birtch is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO who offers a holistic, relational, and collaborative approach to therapy. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Western University and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, bringing together an understanding of both the body and the mind to her work.
Paula believes that while each person’s story is unique, many of our struggles share common threads and themes. She approaches therapy as a compassionate and collaborative journey to explore patterns, emotions, beliefs, and nervous system responses, viewing them not as flaws to fix or personal failures, but as meaningful and intelligent adaptations shaped by lived experience.
Paula has a strong interest in nervous system–informed care, neurobiology, somatic and depth-oriented approaches and psychotherapy that honours embodiment, meaning-making, and empowerment. She is deeply committed to ongoing learning, supervision, and growth as a clinician.
Alongside her professional training, Paula brings the wisdom of lived experience. She is a mother of four and has personal experience with adoption and parental loss. These experiences have deepened her sensitivity to attachment, grief, identity, and life transitions, and inform the care, respect, and humility she brings to the therapeutic relationship.
Outside the therapy room, Paula finds joy and grounding in nature, meaningful connection, and creativity. She has a lifelong love of horses and hopes to pursue equine-assisted therapy in the future, one day living on a farm. She also enjoys gardening, cooking, board games, and long conversations over good coffee and nachos. Paula considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they reconnect with their inner wisdom and move toward greater balance and well-being.
